1. Course Introduction, syllabus review

2. Introduction to Premiere Pro: Workspaces, source media management, the timeline, sequences, and key shortcuts

3. Core Editing Techniques: Types of cuts & basic transitions, trimming, layering, synchronization, & timeline organization

4. Basic Video Editing in Premiere: Assembling a rough cut, utilizing cuts & basic transitions, basic transforms, exporting

5. Creative Editing Techniques: Match cuts, L & J Cuts, the Kuleshov Effect & inserts, The Rule of Six, continuity editing

6. Introduction to Animation: Keyframes, Ken Burns & generating motion, effects masks

7. Introduction to Post Processing: Introduction to Color correction, sharpening, basic effects, color & luma keys

8. Introduction to Multi-Cam Editing: Multi-source synchronization, multi-cam sequences, & false multi-cam

Attendance Policy

Any student more than 15 minutes late will be considered absent. After one absence, all further unexcused absences will cause you to lose credit for the day as part of your weekly participation grade. If there are special circumstances related to your absence such as medical emergency, speak with me as soon as possible and your absence can be excused at instructor discretion.

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
